Senior UX Engineer

• Maintain and enhance existing application architecture and components, focusing on performance, reusability, and testability
• Spearhead planning of new features and technical refactoring, defining level of effort, acceptance criteria, testing requirements, and release timing

• Built and maintained responsive online experiences, consisting of dozens of code-bases and hundreds of pages, with a focus on accessibility and performance
• Acted as project lead and provided mentorship for the front-end engineering team
• Facilitated collaboration among the front-end, back-end, analytics, accounts, and project management teams by providing cross-team education and creating documentation on internal software and initiatives
• Engineered multiple data-driven e-commerce solutions, working closely with back-end teams on API architecture
• Designed and coded the front-end build stack, which translates atomically written code into modules for use in an in-house content management system

Cross Media Developer

Lake County Press (2010–2014, Waukegan, IL)

• Designed and implemented cross-media campaigns combining variable data print (VDP) materials with dynamically generated online and mobile experiences
• Built an online order and ticket-tracking system with user-access control layer, history, and both client-facing and internal dashboards in order to replace paper-based ticketing system
• Improved consumer experience by building a JavaScript framework that I then used to create customizable, responsive, and user-friendly web storefronts for print-on-demand services for corporate clients
• Wrote extensive server-side code to validate and convert user-entered data for injection into VDP compositing engine to create print-on-demand materials
